Woodrow Ellis, age 78 of Wirtz, passed away on November 2, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Cheryl Ellis of Wirtz; step daughter Brenda Davis and husband Michael Wallace of Rocky Mount; two step sons David Bowles and wife Terri of Rocky Mount, Brian Bowles and wife Debra of Wirtz; five grandchildren Jason Bowles of Roanoke, Matthew Davis of Boones Mill, Bo Bowles of Rocky Mount, Rachel Davis of Rocky Mount, Kristianna Bowles of Wirtz; great-grandchild Montana Bowles of Danville.
