Biography

Mary Elizabeth Scott, age 68 of Ferrum, is wrapped in God’s arms as of Friday, June 22, 2012. She was born January 21, 1944. She was preceded in death by her father Harry Thurman Laprade and stepfather Arlie Mitchell Quinn. Surviving is her husband of nearly 50 years Frank Scott; children Chester D. Scott (Susan Foley), Randall W. Scott (Sheila), Theresa G. Scott (Keith Snead), Yvonne S. Walker (Billy), Darrell J. Scott (Jamie Powell); mother Rachel Goldie Hall Laprade Quinn; grandchildren Elizabeth Scott, Leslie Scott, Byron Walker and Kyndall Walker; great-grandchildren Dale Ray Scott, Addysen Scott; brothers Hurmand Daniel Laprade (Joyce), Thurman G. Laprade (Cindy), Ralph E. Laprade, John T. Laprade (Doris Jean), Arlie Quinn, Jr. “Junior”; sisters Lois V. Webb (Tony), Joyce Feazelle, Arlene Wood (Keith); several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Ferrum Rescue Squad or Fire Department. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner Bowman Funeral Chapel, Rt. 220, at 2:00 pm Monday with Pastor Terry Covey and Pastor Zach Furchess officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
